About

Alan Batek is a saxophonist from Batavia, Illinois and a recent graduate from Elmhurst University with a major in Jazz Studies and a minor in Music Production.
With the Elmhurst University Jazz Band, Alan has toured around the Midwest and Europe, and has shared the stage with legends such as Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Byron Stripling, Kurt Elling, and more.
In addition to jazz saxophone, Alan has studied classical repertoire, flute, and clarinet.
Alan performs around the Midwest and beyond in jazz groups, rock groups, and various other genres.
His main musical influences include Charlie Parker, Art Pepper, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Kenny Garrett, John Coltrane, and more.
Alan is grateful to have been a student of Mark Colby, Roger Birkeland, Doug Beach, and others.
